Canada removes the process of medical examination for 180,000 candidates

Sean Fraser, has announced that medical examinations for 180,000 temporary and permanent residence applicants will not be conducted. These candidates have to meet certain criteria for this move. The step has been taken as IRCC is adding 1,250 immigration employees to speed up the visa process. IRCC is making the visa processing system online to speed up the processing of visa applications.

The Immigration Minister stated that “individuals immigrate to Canada to reunite with their families, work, study, and to create a new life. The immigration system should be strengthened through updating the technology so that candidates can easily apply for Canada PR.

IRCC taking steps to quickly process the family reunification applications

IRCC is holding telephone and video interviews so that the family unification visa applications can be processed quickly. Applicants and sponsors have to attend these interviews. In 2021, IRCC successfully welcomed 69,000 spouses, children, and partners. As the services have been modernized and support has been added, the processing time of the spousal sponsor visa applications was again returned to 12 months.
