Why to learn German language?

German is the primary language used in most Western and Central European countries. German language-speaking countries include Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It is also the regional language of Hungary, Denmark, Slovakia, Italy, Romania, France, and Namibia. If you are planning to move to a European country, learning the German language is the most important thing. Most of the European Union countries use the German language for business, education, science, and technology.

What is German Language Examination?

Aspirants who are planning to move to European countries can take any of the German language examinations. A German language proof increases their chances of getting a visa. Some of the famous German language tests include, 

  • TestDaF: Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache
  • DSH: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang
  • Goethe-Zertifikat
  • telc German A1, A2, B1, B2
  • Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD)

These are the various German tests that cover CEFR levels from A1 to C2. The test level is measured by the A1-C2, which is A1 is for beginners and C2 is for advanced speakers. 

Is German Language Easy To Learn?

German is easier to learn for English speakers because of the similarities between English and German. English and German belong to the West Germanic language family. Almost 40% of English and German language vocabulary is the same. The German language pronunciation is easier as it is a phonetic language.

What is German Language A Level?

German language A level is the first level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It represents the basic language skills in German.

German A1 Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 4 sections.

The exam takes 80 minutes. As the speaking test takes longer, you may need to spend the whole day at the test center.

The German A1 test was conducted for 60 points. You must score at least 36 points to score 60% to clear the exam.

What is the Ideal German score?

The Goethe German A1 exam covers 4 sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Passing the German exam requires more than 60% of the score. German score ranges from 1.0 to 5.0 GPA Grades, and in Indian Grades, it ranges from 0 to 100%.

German Registration: Step by Step Process

Step 1: Visit the official website to register for German language test.

Step 2: Create your login account with user name and password

Step 3: Fill up all the required information

Step 4: Click on Register Now

Step 5: Select German exam date and time.

Step 6: Check all the details once.

Step 7: Pay the German language test registration fees.

German Test Eligibility

German test has no specific eligibility criteria. Anyone who is above 12 years of age can undergo the German language test. Regardless of age, gender, and nationality, one can appear for the exam.

German Test Requirements

Applicants enrolling for the German test require a Valid Government-issued identity card. Check various other requirements for German tests from the following. 

Goethe-Zertifikat B1

  • Applicant must be at least 16 years old. 
  • Must have German language skills of the third level of competence (B1) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

TestDaF

  • Students who wish to study in Germany can appear for this test. 
  • The test is used to assess the German language skills of students (should be from B2 to C1)

DSH

  • Your language capability should be a b2-c2 level of the CEFR. 
  • Must have studied an intermediate course in the German language with a duration of around 1000 hours. 

Zertifikat Deutsch

  • Determines your capability in speaking German (Deutsch).

TestAS

  • Students seeking admission to undergraduate degree courses in German universities. 
  • The general and subject-related aptitude of the candidates will be tested under this test.
