About GMAT

GMAT is a computer adaptive test (CAT) which assesses the analytical, writing, quantitative and verbal skills of students. The maximum score in the GMAT is 800. Typically, students should aim for a minimum score of 600 to succeed in getting admission in a reputed university. Ivy League colleges like Harvard and Stanford typically require scores above 720. The GMAT is developed and conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). This council sets the questions, conducts the test and sends the result to those who have taken the test.

GMAT Total Marks

The GMAT score ranges from 200 – 800. If you score above 760, it means you have scored 99 percentile. If your GMAT score ranges between 400 - 500, it is considered as an average score.

GMAT Eligibility

GMAT has no specific eligibility criteria. Aspirants above the age group of 18 years can sit for the GMAT entrance exam. Students aged 13-17 years must provide a signed GMAT Parental Consent/Authorization form to appear for the test.

Score Requirements

The GMAT minimum score is 200, and the GMAT maximum score is 800. Business and management schools grant admission based on GMAT Score. Candidates seeking admission to foreign business and management schools must clear the GMAT exam with the required score.

GMAT Score Chart
