Can I apply for a Singapore visa directly, or do I need an agent?
plus

What is a Letter of Introduction (Form V39A) and do I need one?
plus
Yes, it's required for social and business visit applications. Form V39A must be completed and signed by a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, aged 21 or above, with a SingPass account. If you have no local contact, a letter from your Embassy may be accepted instead.
What is Form 14A?
plus
Form 14A is the official Singapore Visa Application Form. It must be duly completed and signed and is a required part of your document checklist, alongside your passport, photographs, and supporting documents.
What documents do I need for a Singapore tourist visa?
plus
You'll need Form 14A, Form V39A (LOI), a passport valid for at least six months, passport-size photos, your travel itinerary, proof of hotel and flight bookings, and six months of bank statements showing adequate funds for your trip.
How long is a Singapore tourist visa valid for?
plus
Visa validity is determined by ICA (Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) on a case-by-case basis and can run up to two years with multiple entries, subject to approval. This is separate from your permitted length of stay per visit.
What is the difference between a Singapore visa and a Visit Pass?
plus
The visa is pre-entry permission to travel to Singapore. The Visit Pass is the actual permission to stay, endorsed in your passport by the ICA immigration officer at arrival. Your permitted stay is set at that point, not pre-determined by the visa.
How many days can I stay in Singapore on a tourist visa?
plus
Most tourists receive a 30-day Visit Pass at arrival, but this is not guaranteed — the exact duration is determined by the ICA immigration officer at the checkpoint based on your circumstances at the time of entry.
Do I need a transit visa if I'm just passing through Singapore?
plus
If you hold a valid visa or long-term pass from one of 8 qualifying countries — Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or United States of America — you may be eligible for the 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF). Other conditions apply; check ica.gov.sg.
What is the SG Arrival Card and is it mandatory?
plus

When should I complete the SG Arrival Card?
plus
Within 3 days before your departure date to Singapore, at ica.gov.sg. Failing to complete it may cause delays at airline check-in or at the Singapore immigration checkpoint on arrival.
What financial proof do I need to show for a Singapore visa?
plus
No official minimum balance is published. Bank statements from the last six months should demonstrate consistent funds adequate to cover your trip, ideally reflecting regular income credits rather than a single lump-sum deposit.
What are the common reasons Singapore visa applications get rejected?
plus
Common reasons include insufficient financial proof, a missing Letter of Introduction or Form 14A, an incomplete or vague travel itinerary, prior immigration violations, and applying more than 30 days before your intended travel date.
Can I extend my Singapore tourist visa or stay?
plus
Extensions, where eligible, can be arranged at the ICA Building, 10 Kallang Road, Singapore 208718. Approval and duration are determined by ICA on a case-by-case basis.
How far in advance should I apply for a Singapore visa?
plus
Apply within 30 days before your intended travel date. Applying too far in advance is itself a common reason for rejection or delay, so timing your application within this window is important.
Do I get a visa sticker on my passport, or is it electronic?
plus
All Singapore visas for Indians are issued as e-Visas in PDF format — there is no visa sticker placed in your passport. Once approved, your authorised agent sends you the e-Visa PDF to print and carry with you.
Which Singapore mission handles my visa application based on my location in India?
plus
Singapore Consulate-General Mumbai (mumbai.mfa.gov.sg) covers Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The Singapore High Commission, New Delhi, handles northern states, and the Consulate-General in Chennai handles southern states.
Can I work in Singapore on a tourist visa?
plus
No. A tourist visa only permits sightseeing and short-term visits; it does not authorise employment. If you plan to work in Singapore, you need a separate work pass, which the tourist visa route does not cover.
