The Tier 4 (General) Student Visa was renamed the Student Visa in 2020. In June 2021, the Graduate Visa was introduced. It facilitated international students who graduated from UK universities to seek employment in the UK. The validity is for a maximum of 2 years after graduating.

The Graduate route visa is a work permit for international students who have graduated. It offers them an opportunity to stay back in the UK after completing their study program and work in UK or seek employment, at any skill level for a maximum of 2 years or 3 years for Ph.D. students.
