The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, known as LMU, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in German, is a university located in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

The university comprises 18 faculties to supervise various departments and institutes. One of Germany’s premier research universities, it was established in 1472. The university has more than 51,600 students. Of them, 15% are foreign nationals.
