Newcastle University, UK is partnering with the British Council to offer their GREAT Scholarship Scheme to four postgraduate Indian students. The scholarship award of £5,000 is payable towards the first year of tuition fees. It is applicable for courses commencing in September 2016.
Students with outstanding achievements are eligible to apply for entry into any of the postgraduate Master’s degree programme at Newcastle University. Other conditions that the students have to satisfy are that a) They must be Indian nationals and must have been evaluated as international or overseas students for fee purposes; b) They must hold a Conditional or Unconditional offer on any Master’s degree programme at the City Campus of the University; c) They should (or intend to) commence their studies during the 2016-17 academic year; d) They should be self-funded and not receiving other university or external awards; and e) They must have had attained an average of 60 percent or above in their Bachelor’s degree.
If they have not yet completed their Bachelor’s degree, the University will evaluate them on the basis of their results to date, as long as they have achieved an average of 60 percent or above and are expecting to maintain or increase this in their final semester or year. Students with CGPA scores can also apply if their percentage is equivalent to 60 and above.
