ustralia invites offshore applicants from over 250 occupations for migration Abstract: South Australia has added 259 occupations to the list of occupations for the state. Highlights:
  • The state of South Australia has added 259 more occupations to its list of occupations.
  • It was done to boost the general skilled migration program.
  • The government of South Australia has asked for submission of ROI or Registration of Interest for the invitation of state nomination.
On March 3, 2022, the state Government of South Australia declared that they would be adding 259 more occupations to the list of occupations. The immigrant workers in the specified occupations list are eligible to apply for ROI or Registration of Interest for the state nomination. The applications of foreign nationals who are eligible for ROI can submit their applications for temporary and permanent residency in Australia.

The spokesperson for the Department for Skills and Innovation says

Lee Gaskin, the spokesperson for Department for Skills and Innovation, Australia, says that more than fifty occupations have been added. Currently, there are 190 occupations in the list of occupations in the DAMA or Designated Area Migration Agreements of the South Australian Regional Workforce. The spokesperson adds that although it is available for employers across South Australia, only places with certain postcodes can avail of this facility. Designated Area Migration Agreements

The DAMA will facilitate employers from South Australia to fund the skilled foreign workers for occupations in which they could not employ Australian workers. Objective of DAMA

The objective of the DAMA is to give permanent residency to the sponsored immigrant skilled workers. The state government facilitates this initiative through two agreements.
  • Adelaide Technology and Innovation Advancement Agreement
  • South Australian Regional Workforce Agreement

The new list of DAMA occupations include
  • Tourism and hospitality
  • Business based on agriculture
  • Motor trades
  • Forestry
  • Manufacturing

Ways for filling vacancies
