Recently, Saudi Arabia launched its first-ever Tourist Visa. Saudi Arabia has issued more than 350,000 Tourist Visas in the last three months of 2019, which is a record in itself.
Ahmad Al-Khatib is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage. He says that easing the Visa regulations for Tourist Visas has helped achieve the high number of Tourist Visa grants. The new rules provide greater ease to those holding a US, UK or Schengen Visa to enter the country irrespective of their own nationality.
Mr Al-Khatib also stated that Saudi is focusing on reshaping hotel licenses. This will help attract more investors to the country and also in training human resources in a great way.
In the meanwhile, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has announced the launch of the Saudi Café. The launch is in collaboration with the Initiatives Centre of Misk Foundation. The announcement comes on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2020 in Davos, Switzerland.
The Saudi Café is run by the Misk Foundation and World Economic Forum. Not only can you experience the culinary delights of Saudi Arabia and its culture but also interactive online content. Members of the World Economic Forum recognize the unique culture and society of Saudi Arabia and the Vision 2030 strategy of the desert kingdom.
To align itself with the aims of the Vision 2030, Saudi has opened its windows to all countries to strengthen communication with different cultures. The country aims to promote mutual understanding and respect through this gesture. Vision 2030 also aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy, which is currently heavily reliant on oil.
