Ottawa breaks PNP record with latest Express Entry draw

On February 17, 2022, Ottawa broke its own record. Ottawa Provincial Nominee Program, Express Entry draw invited 1,082 candidates. In the previous draw held on February 2, it issued 1070 invitations to apply for the Permanent Residency. What is ITA?

Individuals who receive Invitation to Apply (ITA) are eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada. They will be notified by IRCC regarding the procedures involved to proceed further.. They would also be informed on how to apply for permanent residence. ITA does not ensure that the applicant gets selected for permanent residence. Increasing issuance of ITA

The issuance of ITA in Canada has been witnessing an upward trend. It issued 1036 ITAs in January 2022. In the current year, it has issued 3580 Provincial Nominee Program invitations. IRCC issued 114,431 ITAs in 2021. It was more than the previous record of 107,350 of 2020. All the candidates belonged to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP candidates. The number of invitations is expected to increase in the future as the province is have more number of job vacancies. The country also targets to invite 431,645 new Permanent Residence in 2022.
