British Columbia is among the 9 provinces and 2 territories that are a part of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program, commonly referred to as Canadian PNP.
Canada PR through the PNP is a two-step process. Those successful in securing a PNP nomination can then apply for permanent residence to IRCC.
Extended indefinitely and accordingly renamed, BC PNP Tech provides tech employers within the province the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent wherever local skilled workers are unavailable.
A prioritized and expedited British Columbia immigration pathway, BC PNP Tech enables skilled foreign workers – in 29 tech occupations – to work and live within BC as permanent residents.
6,000+ tech workers have been nominated by the province under the BC PNP Tech so far.

To be eligible for BC PNP Tech, the skilled worker must have a valid job offer under any one of the 29 eligible occupations.
At least 120 days of the job offer must be remaining (at the time of the application to the BC PNP). The job offer in BC must be for at least 365 days in duration.
Generally, the standard processing time for BC PNP applications is within 3 months of receipt. BC PNP Tech applications are processed much faster.
With the latest round of invitations, British Columbia has invited a total of 10,515 so far in 2021 to apply for a BC PNP nomination for Canada PR.
British Columbia is projected to have 861,000 job openings between 2019 and 2029.
