90% hike in applicants with Human capital factors who received Canada PR Invite

90% more applicants with Human capital factors have received a Canada PR Invite after improvements were made to the Express entry program in November 2016. These candidates have received the Canada PR Invite solely on the human capital factors. This means they were not required to obtain extra points for factors like obtaining a provincial nomination or job offer in Canada. These applicants possessed adequate points via the Comprehensive Ranking System to receive a Canada PR Invite purely on the basis of human capital factors. It has also been revealed that more applicants from Applied and Natural Sciences are receiving the ITA for Canada PR that included STEM occupations. In the period November 2016 to February 2017 35% such applicants were invited which was an increase from 28% earlier, as quoted by the CIC News. Immigrant workers in Information Technology sector have especially benefitted from the latest changes that have been made effective to Canada Express entry. A large number of immigrant applicants from the Information Technology sector is now receiving the Canada PR Invite. In order to balance the equation between immigrant outcomes and responsiveness of labor market, IRCC decreased the value of a job offer drastically. 200 points are now awarded for a job offer if it is in a Major Group 00 occupation in the National Classification. For a job offer in any other skilled position, 50 points are awarded. To ensure that increased number of former overseas students receives an ITA, 30 CRS points are now allocated to applicants who pursued the education in Canada. As a result, 46% of the ITAs are now offered to former overseas students helping them to smoothly obtain a Canada PR.
