Overseas Students in Ireland have been asked to be cautious of accommodation scams. An awareness campaign titled ‘Scam Watch’ has been launched with this purpose. It aims at avoiding overseas students from being victimized by the accommodation scams.
The Government of Ireland has planned to offer 7,000 extra student beds by the year 2019. The accommodation providers in the private sector have also responded to this challenge. They have also enhanced the pricing meanwhile, as quoted by the Study International.
Overseas students in Ireland who do not fit into the affluent bracket are open to exploitation. They are often forced to opt for options at a low cost to have a shelter when they arrive in Ireland. But these are always not available according to President of the Union of Students in Ireland Síona Cahill.
