NMB Bank launched its Visa International Card on Monday. The launch came as a step towards improved facilitation of the customers banking and financial needs, the bank said, adding that the card is a pre-paid card that gives the users convenience of either making payments for any product/service or withdraw cash while travelling abroad, except India. “It gives the convenience of having all transactions in the currency most relevant to the user and also reduces the risk of carrying cash while travelling, said the NMB Bank that also offers travel insurance facility as part of the package for the card.
Grand’s cash dividend
KATHMANDU: The 144th board meeting of Grand Bank Nepal has decided to give 7.5 per cent cash dividends, apart from appointing Swarup Gurung Koney as its new chairman. Koney is also the president of Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) and past president of Nepal Philippines Society. The meeting also appointed Jagdish Kumar Agrawal, Pawan Kumar Agrawal and Shreeram Lamichane as board members for the next four years term representing the promoters side. Devraj Rajbhandari, Sohan Babu Khatri, Madhuwan Maskey and Pratap Mehar Shrestha have been selected as board members, said the bank that has collected a deposit worth Rs 15 billion and has floated loans worth Rs 12 billion till mid-July. It has been able to earn net profit of Rs 180.37 million. — HNS
NATTA-Poudel talks
KATHMANDU: A team led by the president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Pawitra Kumar Karki met with newly appointed chief secretary Lila Mani Poudel at the latter’s office on Monday. During the meeting, the team appraised him problems of tourism sector. Poudel had previously worked as tourism secretary and had contributed a lot to include tourism sector under the priority list. It has expected similar support from the chief secretary in the future too.
Kapan promotion
KATHMANDU: Kapan Tourism Promotion Board (KTPB) on the occasion of Visit Lumbini Year 2012 and World Tourism Day on September 27-29 is organising a cultural event at the premises of Bunglamuki Temple, Kapan to raise fund for the construction of Kapan Tapu viewpoint. “The area having tourism importance has not been able to showcase its tourists sites to the visitors and the world due to lack of infrastructure,” it said.
