Canada Jobs increase in 9 out of 10 largest industrial sectors

Canada Jobs have increased in 9 out of 10 largest industrial sectors in Q1-2018 as per the latest report from Statistics Canada. The leading sector was Healthcare and Social Assistance that added 11,000 Canada Jobs in comparison with Q1-2017. This was an increase of 27.3% over 2017.

 

Canada Jobs increased in all 4 sub-sectors in Healthcare and Social Assistance. This includes Residential care facilities, Nursing, and Healthcare services, as quoted by the CIC News.

 

The Transportation and Warehousing sector witnessed a growth of 46% with the addition of 9,300 job vacancies in comparison with Q1-2017. The Manufacturing sector recorded a growth of 23% with an increase of 7, 800 job positions. The leading sub-sectors were Food Manufacturing, Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing and Transportation Equipment Manufacturing.

 

The Professional, Technical and Scientific Services sector in Canada recorded a job growth of 5,600. This was in comparison with Q1-2017.

 

An increase of 9,030 job vacancies was reported by Statistics Canada in Finance, Business and Administration category in terms of broad occupation categories. Natural and Applied Sciences category recorded growth of 8, 080 jobs in Q1-2018 in compassion with the same period in 2017.

 

Job vacancies increased in 19 out of 20 industrial sectors in British Columbia province according to Statistics Canada. The job vacancies were concentrated in the Lower Mainland-Southwest economic region of the province that includes Vancouver.
