One of the acts of strengthening ties with Indo-Pacific countries is the launching of Canada-ASEAN Scholarships as well as the program for Educational Exchanges for Development.

The program will offer 14.2 million CAD in funding for the next 5 years. It is designed to encourage exchanges and sharing of knowledge and skills and to introduce advanced education and research in common areas of interest.

The education-oriented program aids international students in social and economic contributions to Canada. The funds received under the Indo-Pacific Strategy will help in strengthening Canada's International Student Program. Plans in the Indo-Pacific Strategy

Sean Fraser, the Canadian Immigration Minister has stated that an investment of 74.6 million CAD over 5 years and 15.7 million CAD in the current year will strengthen the current efforts to make the Canadian immigrant application process more efficient, in Canada as well as Indo-Pacific countries.
