The cap for the Financial Year 2016-2017 will begin from the 1st of April 2016. We have a couple of months to prepare. The reason for this post is to help you prepare as soon as possible to apply as the competition levels for application is extremely high and you should not face any last minute hurdles towards acquiring the temporary work visa. Against the annual quota of this years’ number of 85,000; the Department of Homeland Services received about 233,000 applications.
As the next year will observe a younger limit by cutting 15,000 H-1B visas, which brings the grand total to 70,000 visas. And with the number of applications set to break this year’s record, it would be better to start on your application as soon as possible. The DHS allows applications to be submitted between the dates 1st of April and the 7th of April 2016.
Evaluate your requirements
Though it might seem unnecessary, but getting a handle on your employee requirements will prepare you to get required documents ready. This will help you process quickly and also evaluate you budgeting needs. By the data of entry, the number of applications will skyrocket from the get go. Applying on time will capitalize your chances of getting your documents through to processing on or before time.
Get your LCA and consider multi-slot LCA
The parent organization in the US will have to acquire Labor Condition Applicants (LCA) as soon as possible as part of the mandatory requirements. Getting a single LCA is fine but if you have the necessity to send many people on similar profiles, take the advantage of a multi-slot LCA, as this will save time. Not applying on time can result in not getting your required visas; while late submission can be damaging as the cap could fill up quickly and leave you behind.
