Student Immigration

Students around the world have some commonalities that plague them. And we don’t mean the types who wear a devil may care attitude on their sleeves. We mean that students are not full time earners and have to live a life that starts and ends with affordability. This itself is a dream for most hopefuls as less than one percent of world’s students immigrate for education. This is because immigration abroad just does not contain education costs, but insurance, travel, food, housing, books and other lifestyle expenses.

This is a reality that we cannot ignore. So to help your dependent immigrate with affordability in mind, Y-Axis gives you a few guidelines to get through this decision phase with considerable ease. Firstly, don’t look at the high cost of education and such. If it was cheap and easy, it would have been very easy and not considered a privilege and a stepping stone to a better life. Look at it as a business investment and expect that you will get good return on investment from this sacrifice.

Secondly, standards of living differ as per geography. Depending on your investment cap and the level of risk you want to take, choose the university, city and country. Generally, living in Europe is more affordable to students. Rent, food, travel and all expenses are on the lower side; but keep in mind that language barrier can be a hurdle, albeit a small one.

Thirdly, scholarships are important. We can’t say tis enough times. Use the advantage of the internet. Google it, as they say. Go through university websites, host country education ministry websites, and well as your country websites to search for any and all scholarships.

Fourthly, ask your bank if they have tie-ups with other country banks for better deals on currency exchange and money transfer rates.

Fifthly, get your child a smart phone, and get one for yourself to keep in touch regularly. Free apps like Viber, WhatsApp and Skype helps communicate freely.

These are just a few ideas that we have shared with you to assist your decision making. So if you or your dependent has a yearning to study at the best universities, please fill our enquiry form so that one of our consultants will reach you to entertain your queries.
