The Graduate Management Admission Test is the test you need to score in of you are going to study abroad joining a university for graduate or postgraduate programs like MBA.

It assesses the candidate’s skill in written English, analytical skills, and quantitative ability. The test has wide acceptance across many countries on the globe.

A GMAT course prepares you well for attending the test and gives you all the practice you need to plan and perform well in the exam. But for a beginner, the understanding of the exam itself with some facts being fed will help get clarity about the course.

Here are a few facts about the GMAT that you should know.

GMAT test has 4 parts

GMAT test assesses your ability to analyze problems and find solutions with logical reasoning. There are 4 parts to the test:

  • Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) - Here, you show your ability to think critically and communicate your thoughts effectively.
  • Integrated Reasoning (IR) - Here, you show your ability to interpret data in various formats.
  • Quantitative section – Here, your math skills are put to the test.
  • Verbal section – Here, you need to interpret written material, correct the language, and assess arguments.

The GMAT test is adaptive

The quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT test are adaptive. That means, the test starts with moderately difficult questions and puts questions through the test with difficulty levels based on how well you solve the questions.

GMAT is a costly affair

The global price of enrolling for the GMAT exam is $250. If you take the test multiple times, each time you will have to spend the same amount.

The GMAT score for admission eligibility is different between institutions

GMAT score ranges between 200 and 800 points. The quantitative and verbal sections of the test have a huge bearing on the test scores. But the minimum score needed for each graduate or a Master's program like MBA is different for different institutions.

GMAT test has limits for taking retests

There must be a minimum of 16 days between taking 2 GMAT exams. Also, you can only take the test only 5 times a year. Finally, you cannot take more than 8 trials of the test.

So, keeping these facts in mind, you must plan and work for the GMAT test.
