Persons who want to go abroad to study or work are easy prey for visa scamsPeople operating such scams lure gullible aspirants with the promise of a better job or course of study.

Such scammers pose as employees or representatives of overseas migration consultants. They are adept at using technology that makes the applicant believe that the call is from the migration agency. Further, the applicant is asked to verify the number on the official website. This makes him believe he is dealing with a genuine consultant.

These scammers send fabricated job offer letters or documentation via e-mailThey ask applicants to make an upfront payment and/or share personal information.

Applicants should watch out for the following signs so that they do not fall prey to such scams.

  • E-mails containing job offers or immigration letters that come from fabricated mail accounts or personal mail ids.
  • Requests for advance payments to personal bank accounts with a threat to reject your visa application

Such agents use the names of registered consultants without their consent so it is better to check with the concerned agent.

When you are looking for visa services, it is better to hire the services of reputed immigration consultant.  Apart from the trust factor, they will handle your visa application process in a professional way so that you get what you pay for.

With visa scams coming up on a regular basis, it is always better to be cautious so that you do not become a victim.
