The province of British Columbia in Canada has held another draw under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada.

In the latest BC Provincial Nominee Program [BC PNP] draw on March 9, 2021, a total of 95 Canada immigration candidates have received invitations to apply for a PNP nomination – through British Columbia – for Canadian permanent residence.

As this was a BC PNP Tech Pilot draw, invitations went to candidates with job offers in any of the 29 key tech occupations.

To be eligible for the BC PNP Tech Pilot, the individual is required to have a valid job offer under any of the 29 occupations eligible. Their job offer must be for a minimum of 1 year, with the job offer having a minimum of 120 days remaining at the time of their application to the BC PNP.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended until June 2021 with the aim of providing “BC tech employers with the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent when local skilled workers are unavailable”.   Offering an expedited immigration pathway for individuals with tech skills, the BC PNP Tech Pilot has supported – since its launch in May 2017 – more than 4,200 tech workers for a BC nomination for Canada PR.   The Tech Pilot of the BC PNP helps ensure that the technology sector in BC can attract as well as retain the talent it requires for sustaining and growing the sector further.

Key features of the Tech Pilot are based on factors such as – service, timeliness, prioritization, and engagement.
