Express Entry: 374 invited with a PNP nomination

On January 20, 2021, another 374 Express Entry candidates received invitations from the federal government of Canada under the Express Entry system.

Provincial nominees that had been nominated under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] were eligible.

As a PNP nomination in itself fetches an Express Entry candidate 600 additional points towards their ranking score – the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] – the minimum CRS cut-off in the latest Express Entry round of invitations was 741.

As a tie-breaking rule of September 5, 2020 at 19:39:04 UTC was applied, candidates that had the minimum CRS of 741 were issued invitations, provided they had submitted their Express Entry profile before the date and time as per the tie-breaking rule.

As per the 2021-2023 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada plans on inviting a total of 401,000 newcomers in 2021. Of these, around 108,500 are to be Federal High Skilled and granted Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry system.

Despite 2020 being an unprecedented year in terms of the coronavirus pandemic situation, 2020 was nonetheless a record-breaking year for Canada’s Express Entry system. A total of 107,350 invitations to apply [ITAs] were issued in the 37 draws that were held throughout the year by Immigration, refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC].
