IRCC and ESDC announced amendments to the Immigration and Refugees Protections Regulations so that more protection can be given to temporary foreign workers. There are 13 amendments that will be used for the protection of workers and it will also enhance the Temporary Foreign Workers Program.
ESDC stated that new amendments will protect TFWs from mistreatment and abuse in Canada. Here are the conditions to be followed:
Employers have to provide access to healthcare services along with private health insurance. ESDC stated that amendments will enhance the program’s ability for the inspection of workplaces and enforcement of all rules. The program will also administer the consequences if rules are not followed. One of these consequences can be the cancellation of LMIA.

Temporary foreign workers enjoy the same rights given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Employers have to provide a safe working environment to the workers. Employers have to pay wages along with overtime. A signed copy of the offer letter should be given to employees before their first day of work.
