Malaysia warns Indians about fake visa sites

The High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi is expressing concerns about fake websites, which promise to offer Malaysian visa services at steep fees. They are also said to be misleading them.

 

Responding to the Times of India news report, titled ‘Ex-Babu Conned by Malaysian Online Visa Site”, which appeared on 10 March 2018, Dato’ Hidayat Abdul Hamid, Malaysian High Commissioner, said that http://www.windowmalyasia.my/ was the official website for online visa application for Malaysia. The fees for online visa application is eVisa (multiple entry, up to 30 days stay per entry is INR1, 100 (visa fee), three months validity and $25 as Processing Fee, eVisa (multiple entry, up to 15 days stay per entry, three months validity and $20 as Processing fee and Visa Waiver program (eNTRI-single entry, up to 15 days stay, three months validity and $20 as processing fee.

 

The High Commission was quoted by The Times of India as stating that applicants could also opt to apply for sticker visa. It said that they could submit their application themselves or through authorised agents at the Malaysia Visa OSC (One Stop Centre) in Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai, besides at its authorised visa application offices in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.

 

Applicants could get more details by visiting http://www.visaapplicationmalaysia.com/india/index.html. The sticker visa fee is INR1, 000 and processing fee is INR4,720.

 

The public has been advised to contact Malaysian High Commission by calling 011-24159300 and or emailing at newdelhi@imi.gov.my or mwdelhi@kln.gov.my to get a further clarification before applying for a visa of Malaysia.
