• The government of India and the UK launched Young Professionals Scheme on January 9, 2023
• The scheme will allow 3,000 degree holders aged between 18 and 30 to live and work in each other’s country for two years
• The scheme will start in March 2023

India and UK announced Young Professionals Scheme

The governments of the UK and India launched Young Professionals Scheme on January 9, 2023. The scheme will permit 3,000 degree holders from both countries to live, study and work. The scheme was a part of Migration and Mobility MoU which was signed in May 2021.

Duration of the Young Professionals Scheme

As per the High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami, the scheme will be valid for 3 years and will be effective from March 2023. Citizens of India and Britain can travel to each other’s country to visit, study, or work for two years. Both countries will exchange 3,000 candidates. Vikram Doraiswami also said that there is no need of a job offer to apply for this visa.
