The TEER code for Pharmacist is 31120. Pharmacists are responsible to provide consultancy services to healthcare providers. The employment is provided to Pharmacists in the retail and healthcare centers. Industrial Pharmacists have the duty of developing, researching promoting, and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Job duties are divided according to the types of Pharmacists.

Job duties for Community and Hospital Pharmacists are as follows:

 

  • Checking the prescription of proper dosage of different medicines
  • Calculating, mixing, and measuring the right amount of ingredients and drugs to fill the containers with the right quantity
  • Maintaining of the medication profiles of customers
  • Maintaining and ordering the supplies of raw materials
  • Ensure that proper packaging is done and all the drugs are stored correctly
  • Ordering of pharmaceutical supplies and maintenance of the stock
  • Giving advice to the customers regarding the usage of non-prescription medicine
  • Supervision of staff which include pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and others

Job duties for Industrial Pharmacists are as follows:

  • Participating in research for the development of new drugs
  • Testing of the new products on the basis of absorption and elimination patterns
  • Controlling the drug product quality to make sure that they meet standards of potency, purity, uniformity, stability, and safety
  • Promoting pharmaceutical products

Eligibility criteria for Pharmacist
