Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a Radiographer Technician and a Radiographer/Radiographer Technologist?
plus
The title depends on your qualification. A Diploma in Radiography/Radiologic Technology is generally assessed for the Technician title; a BSc in Radiography/Radiologic Technology/Medical Imaging is generally assessed for the Radiographer/Radiographer Technologist title, which typically covers the fuller spectrum of imaging procedures.
Which is better: DHA, DOH, SHA or MOHAP?
plus
Pick by target emirate and your employer's facility. DHA licenses Dubai, DOH covers Abu Dhabi, MOHAP the Northern Emirates (and Sharjah facilities still licensed by it), and SHA Sharjah. A licence is valid only in its own authority's jurisdiction; moving later needs a new application, with exam exemption possible where PQR conditions are met.
Do I need a job offer before getting licensed?
plus
No for the Eligibility Letter, but yes for an active licence and visa.
Do I need a job offer before getting licensed?
plus
No age limit is specified in the PQR; eligibility is based on qualification, registration and experience, not age.
How long is the Eligibility Letter valid?
plus
Generally one to three years from issue, it varies by authority. You need to secure a job offer and have your sponsoring facility activate your license within that window, or reapply.
