Canada due to severe workforce shortages has been updating its Immigration targets every year. According to Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024, the country was supposed to welcome 432,000 PRs for 2022.
With the current trend of immigration, Canada has already crossed its immigration targets for the current year. The immigration targets have been rising year over year, as it has no Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents left to do the unoccupied jobs.
Canada released its new immigration targets for 2023-2025 on November 1, 2022, and has raised its immigration targets for the next three years by targeting more than 1.5 Million immigrants.
The table below shows the Immigration Levels plan for 2023-2025 based on the economic, family, and other classes or pathways. The immigration targets for Express Entry, PNP, and PGP have been raised for the next three years.

Based on a Canadian survey, 80% of Canadian employers search for immigrants to fill the empty jobs which have been lying vacant for more than 5 months.
Approximately 40% of Canadian businesses are facing workforce shortages. There are no Canadians or Canada PRs left to take up the jobs as 18.5% of Canadians are aged 65 or above. This gives a huge scope of employment for immigrants.
Most Canadian employers show interest to recruit immigrants in the first place to avoid losses from delayed and canceled projects.
89% of Canadian employers are satisfied with the strong knowledge of the new hires and 70% of employers opinions that the new hires are strong human skills.
