Marine Engineer, TEER code 72603

The TEER code for marine engineers is 72603. As Canada is changing its NOC from four-digit to five-digit so the code has been changed from 2148 to 72603. Candidates have to make correct choices for the NOC codes so that they can work peacefully in Canada without any problems. They will also help in contribution to the Canadian economy and make the immigration project successful. Job duties of a marine engineer include the development and designing of the marine vessels associated with marine power plants. Marine engineers also have to maintain the vessels and repair them if required.

Eligibility criteria for Marine Engineer

The eligibility criteria for a Marine Engineer in Canada are as follows:

  • Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • There may also be a requirement of a Master’s degree or a doctorate in any engineering discipline.
  • Candidates need to obtain a license from a provincial or territorial association of engineers. This certificate is useful and needful for the approval of reports and engineering designs. The certificate will also allow the candidates to practice as a professional engineer.
  • Marine engineers will become eligible for registration after:
    • completing their graduation from an accredited educational program
    • working for three to four years and gaining a supervised work experience in engineering
    • passing a professional engineering examination
