Eligibility criteria for Secondary School Teacher

The eligibility criteria change a little based on the role assigned to the Secondary School Teacher.

  • The academic subject teachers would need a bachelor’s degree in education which is usually anticipated by a Graduate degree in the Arts or Sciences.
  • Vocational subject teachers or technical subject teachers would require a bachelor’s degree in education which is usually preceded by experience in the subject or specialized training in the subject.
  • The teachers who belong to different trades in Quebec will require a certificate of apprenticeship training program & industry or trade certification.
  • The departmental heads usually need a few years of teaching experience in the concerned subject.
