Canada Immigration Updates: Latest details of CELPIP test

The latest details of the CELPIP test for Canada immigration have been revealed. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program has 2 tests. These are CELPIP – G/ General and CELPIP – A /Academic.

Canada immigration through the Express Entry system requires the candidates to take up the CELPIP – G test. The test results for CELPIP tests attempted prior to 3 May 2013 will have a score of five for the individual ability for 9 and 10 CLB levels.

CELPIP – G test is a complete testing program for the English language. It assesses the general levels of functional competency in the language. It is for around 3 hours and consists of 4 components as below:

• Listening: 47-55 minutes
• Reading: 55-60 minutes
• Writing: 53-60 minutes
• Speaking: 15-20 minutes

The CELPIP test is completely delivered on computer. This offers the opportunities to the test takers to complete all components of the test at one go. Thus, no additional test sittings, interviews or appointments are needed, as quoted by the CIC News.

Test takers of CELPIP use a keyboard and mouse for completing the Writing and Reading components of the test. They use a headset and microphone for completing the Speaking and Listening components. Digital tests offer a reliable and quick testing experience to the test takers.
