The Express Entry System

The Express Entry system was started by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in 2015. The system lets you immigrate to Canada within six months, which is why it is so popular among foreign nationals. The sole motive for introducing the Express Entry system was to choose applicants through the following programs:

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is for people with skilled work experience in Canada. It was instigated to provide permanent residence to foreign graduates and temporary foreign workers applicants.

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

The Canadian government has introduced the Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP) to help highly skilled trade people get jobs in Canada. These people must hold work experience to get a job offer.

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) has been established to assist skilled workers having foreign work experience. Under this program, any worker meeting the eligibility criteria can immigrate to Canada.

Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OINP)

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) works with the Canadian government through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Any foreign nationals with appropriate education, skills, and experience can apply for a nomination in OINP.

The program nominates candidates with relevant experience and skills that meet the economic needs of Ontario. However, the final decision on approvals will be made by the government of Canada.

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)

Formerly known as Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) nominates candidates for permanent residence in Alberta. The nominees must be planning to start or buy a business or possess all the necessary skills to fit in the job vacancies in Alberta. The Government of Alberta and Canada runs this program.

If the applicant is chosen under this program, they can apply for the PR with their family members ad relatives. IRCC manages the PR applications for this program.

Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

Through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), immigrants with targeted experience and skills are nominated to immigrate by Nova Scotia. There are many streams under this program, like Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities, International Graduates in Demand, Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry, Labour Market Priorities for Physicians, etc.

The process of NSNP entirely depends on your selection and qualification of streams. The processing time for the nominated application is three months or more. And after receiving the nominee certificate, the applicant should apply to the IRCC within six months.
