Employment is available in public sectors like healthcare and education. Immigrants who want to work in Norway need to have a Norwegian-style CV and a cover letter. The average annual salary is NOK 636,690. Immigrants need to meet the eligibility criteria to work in the country. Immigrants also need to meet certain educational qualifications to be considered as skilled workers.

Employees in Norway have to work for 9 hours a day and 40 hours per week. They will get 10 public holidays according to the Holidays Act in Norway.
Employees will get an average annual salary of NOK 636,690 which is equivalent to US dollars 64,309. The salary will depend on the industry, age of employees, and their skill level.
Many benefits are included in the National Insurance Scheme. This scheme covers the work assessment allowance, sick pay, unemployment benefits, disability pension, healthcare allowance, and many more.
Overtime cannot exceed 10 hours per week and 25 hours for consecutive four weeks according to the Working Environment Act. The minimum overtime pay is 40 percent above the normal hourly salary.
Public transport in Norway is efficient and it includes buses, ferries, and trains. People can navigate the country easily. Norway is also on the path to change its transport system to electric vehicles from oil and gas counterparts.
There are different types of work permits which immigrants can apply for to work in Norway. These permits are discussed below in detail:
Resident permits are available for study, work, or permanent residence. Previously, resident permits were known as work permit. Applications have to be submitted on the basis of education, occupation, or skillset.
Candidates have to meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for a skilled work permit:
Skilled work permit holders become eligible to apply for permanent residence in Norway if they live and work in the country for 3 years. Employees have the right to change employers but not the type of occupations. There is no need to apply for a new work permit on changing the employer. This permit also allows the international workers to work in their company’s branch in Norway.
Entry visa allows immigrants to migrate to Norway but they are not allowed to work. Applications can be submitted through a local consulate or embassy if they are applying for a Skilled Worker Residence permit.
