Canada plans to bounce back from economic recession post-pandemic. There are acute shortages in the workforce hence the country prepares updated strategies for every year as Immigration Levels Plans.
Post-pandemic the Immigration Levels plan 2022-2024, Canada welcomed 432,000 new Permanent Residents for 2022. Considering the current trend of immigration, Canada surpassed its immigration targets for 2022 already.
The immigration targets have been increasing year by year as there are no Canadian Permanent Residents and Citizens remaining to take up the vacant jobs.
Canada recently announced new immigration targets for the years 2023-2025 on November 1, 2022. This plan has targeted more than 1.5 Million immigrants for the next three years.

Around 80% of Canadian employers have been recruiting foreign immigrants to fill in the unoccupied jobs which have been vacant for months. 40% of businesses in Canada are facing severe shortages in the workforce.
The job vacancy rate in Canada has reached 5.7% during the end of the first six months of 2022 across all sectors. Canada has 1.5 million job vacancies as of October for both part-time and full-time.
Most Canadian employers are more interested in employing immigrants as they could not find enough Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents to occupy the vacant jobs.
India becomes the no#1 global source of talent in Canada. Approximately 130,000 Indians received a work permit in Canada through International Mobility Program (IMP) and 10,000 Indians moved to Canada using the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).
