PEI invites 143 immigration candidates through PNP draw

On September 16, 2021, Prince Edward Island held its regular monthly immigration draw and invited 143 immigration candidates through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

  Among the 143 invitations, 129 were sent to Express Entry and Labor Impact candidates, and the remaining were sent to Business Impact candidates. These invitations were sent to candidates having a minimum score of 72 in the province’s immigration system. This is the eighth draw in 2021 held by the province, and the total number of invitations issued to date is in this year is 1,337.  PNPs allow Canada’s provinces and territories to select immigration candidates who have the specified score and meets their labor market needs. PEI PNP Express Entry Category The PEI PNP Express Entry Category is an advanced PNP linked with the federal government’s Express Entry system. To get an invitation from this stream, candidates need to register their profile in the system. Express Entry manages all the immigration applications from economic-class immigration programs like:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class

The candidates whose profile matches with the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score will be invited to apply. The score is allotted based on their age, education, work experience, and language proficiency in English or French.

  Express Entry candidates who receive the invitation will be allotted with extra 600 points for their CRS Score. This will guarantee the candidate to receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the succeeding Express Entry draw. To get considered for the PEI PNP, the candidates need to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile associated with it. The EOI profiles are given points depending upon the various factors in the PEI unique points grid. The candidates with the highest scores will be invited to apply through monthly draws by the provinces. Labor Impact Category The Labor Impact Category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in P.E.I., and have support from their employer. It is divided into three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. Candidates in this category must also submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for a provincial nomination through the Labor Impact Category. Business Impact Category in PEI PNP Draw  In the Business Impact Category, aspirants need to meet the minimum score requirement to proceed with further application.
