CELPIP – which is 1 of the only 2 English tests accepted for Canadian immigration is now available in Chandigarh City in India. This offers the residents in India with another option for the test to the IELTS. CELPIP is already available in the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and Canada.
Aspiring overseas immigrants to Canada are required to offer evidence of French or English proficiency. This is through the renowned system of Express Entry. The Government of Canada accepts only 2 tests for this purpose. These are the CELPIP General Exam or the IELTS General Exam.
A person must have scored in language test equal to CLB Level – Canadian Language Benchmark 7. This is for applying as a principal applicant in both the Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Worker in Express Entry.

Taking either of the tests over the other has no distinct advantages, as quoted by the CIC News. Nevertheless, the availability of CELPIP in new locations may ease things for aspiring immigrants. This is for those who are facing challenges in IELTS registration owing to high demand.
The CELPIP website has updated that the test will be available in Chandigarh City in India. It will cost CAD 200$. There is the possibility of expansion of the test location to other cities in India. This is if the Chandigarh location is successful.
