BC PNP ends 2020 with 9,000+ SI and EEBC invitations

With this, the BC PNP ends the year with 9,000+ Skills Immigration [SI] and Express Entry BC [EEBC] invitations in 2020. Another approximately 154 invitations went out in 2020 to candidates under the BC PNP’s Entrepreneur Immigration category.

As this was a Tech Pilot draw, invitations issued by the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program [BC PNP] went to candidates with job offers in any of the 29 key tech occupations.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot helps employers in the province to address their talent requirements by providing a fast-tracked immigration pathway for in-demand international students and foreign workers. The processing time for 80% of BC PNP applications is 2-3 months from receipt. Typically, Tech Pilot applications are processed in shorter timeframes.

Offering an expedited Canadian immigration pathway, the BC PNP’s Tech Pilot is for individuals with tech skills that intend to take up permanent residence in Canada while contributing to the shared prosperity of the province.

Since its launch in May 2017, the Tech Pilot has supported 4,000+ tech workers to be nominated for Canadian permanent residence.

The Tech Pilot has been extended to June 2021 to provide B.C. tech employers with the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent when local skilled workers are unavailable.”

In order to be eligible for the Tech Pilot, the candidate must – have their job offer in any of the 29 key occupations, have a job offer for a minimum of 365 days, and the job offer must have at least 120 days left at the time of applying to the BC PNP.

Targeting 4 ‘streams’ or immigration pathways, the latest BC PNP draw invited candidates under the categories of Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC.
