IELTS Tips

Below are vital IELTS test-day tips that will help you to decrease stress and give your best performance:

  1. Pack your passport

You must pack your bag with passports and snacks the previous night itself. Do a double check in the morning for the documents.

  1. Know your destination

Plan your transport and try to arrive in advance. It will avoid stress and accommodate unplanned hindrances if any.

  1. Have a good breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It puts the brain to action. This will also help you to focus on the test.

  1. Arrive before time

Arriving early will allow time for registration including ID check. It will also permit checking of your personal items and photograph for the test report form.

  1. The test room

The desk assigned to you will have your name on it. It will also have 1 or 2 pencils and an eraser. You can only bring your passport and a clear water bottle to the test room.

  1. Timings

The first component of the test is the writing section that lasts for 1 hour. It is followed by the 1-hour reading section and 30 minutes listening section. There will be no breaks, as quoted by the Times of India.

  1. Breaks

You will not be allowed to leave in the last or first 10 minutes of any components of the test. Raise your hand to inform the supervisor if you need to leave the test room for the washroom.

  1. Help

Raise your hand quietly if you have a problem and the Supervisor will attend to you. You cannot speak till the time the Supervisor arrives to assist you.

  1. Post-test

You will be able to access the results of your test online 13 days after the test. The official Test Report will be sent to you through an e-mail.
