Australia student visa

Obtaining an Australian study visa is easy compared to other countries. An individual needs a student visa if they are willing to study in Australia. The Australian student visa is called Subclass 500. Validity for the Australian student visa for a maximum of 5 years.

Eligibility requirements for Australian student visa

  • Choose the course you want to pursue, which is registered with CRICOS.
  • To confirm the Australian university enrolment, get an ECoE (Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment).
  • Proof of intention to study in Australia.
  • Proof of funds during the period of study to cover course fees, travel, and living costs
  • Proofs of Educational qualification certificate
  • English language proficiency tests results like IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL
  • Character Requirement certificate with no criminal record
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) certificate is needed
  • Proof of visa fees payment
  • Proof of civil status (if required)
  • Additional requirements for the university

Work opportunities after studying in Australia

Australia encourages international students to work while studying. The students can avail of work permits after finishing their studies in the country.

Various streams help students to obtain a work permit:

  • Post-study work permit stream
  • Graduate work permit stream


Post-Study Work (PSW) stream:
