HSBC Expat Explorer conducted a survey among 22,000 people living abroad.
Based on factors like cost of living, quality of life, culture, and more, here are the best countries to live and work abroad.
Topping the list is Singapore. Surveyed people have confirmed that their earning have increased after moving to Singapore. However, it is common in Singapore to work five and a half days. Hence, some people felt that it affected their work-life balance. However, Singapore is a great place to meet locals and 95% of the respondents said that locals were a part of their social circle. 69% of the respondents said that they settled in less than a year.
New Zealand takes the 2nd spot on the list of best countries. 60% of the people moving to New Zealand felt that it improved their quality of life. 56% of the people also felt that they have become more physically active after moving there.
Germany is the country to consider if you want to improve your work-life balance. At 26 hours, it has the lowest working hours on average around the world. 71% of the people felt they have found a better balance in Germany.
Canada aims at attracting at least one million immigrants by the year 2020. Becoming a part of the community in Canada is easy. 70% of the people said that they have integrated well with the local culture and people. 51% say that they spend a lot of time with locals. It was also rated as the most welcoming country by 68% of the people, as per Lonely Planet.
As per HSBC, Bahrain has moved up 4 spots from last year’s ranking. It has overtaken financial hubs like Hong Kong. Its economy has expanded into banking, retail, heavy industries, and tourism. It comes fifth in the economics table of the world.
