Indians offered more UK Visas across all categories

Indians were offered more UK Visas across all categories in 2018 - Student Visa, Work Visa, and Visitor Visa. This has been revealed by the UK High Commission in New Delhi.

A little over 19, 500 Indian citizens were offered the Tier 4 UK Student Visa in the year ending 2018 December. This was an increase of 35% over 2017 and the highest total for a single year after 2011. Numbers of Indian students in the UK have now increased by 70% in comparison with just 2 years before in 2016.

Indian workers also continued to receive more UK Visas in the skilled workers' category in comparison with the whole of the rest of the world. Indians received 54% of all skilled Work Visas, as quoted by the Online Indian News. 

Strong growth was also witnessed in numbers of Indian tourists and visitors to the UK. They received 477,000 UK Visitor Visas which was an increase of 10%. 22% of all the UK Visitor Visas were offered to Indian citizens in 2018.

UK Student Visa

Overseas students from outside the UK or EU need to apply for the Student Visa. This is only if the applicant intends to pursue a Degree course of full-time nature in the UK. These UK Visas are not offered for part-time courses. The eligibility is calculated through the points-based rules system known as the Tier 4 UK Student Visa.

UK Work Visa

You will require a UK Work Visa that corresponds to your work type if you are a non-EU/EFTA citizen who wants to work in the UK. Most of the UK Visas in this category also need sponsorship from an employer in the UK. Applicants must thus obtain an appropriate job and sponsorship prior to applying for this Visa.

UK Visitor Visa

You can apply for this Visa if you intend to arrive at the UK for vacation or business. If you intend to receive private medical treatment in the UK, then also you can apply for this UK Visa.
