Canada Express Entry Profile

Immigrants who apply for Canadian migration are given CRS points for their Express entry profile. The Comprehensive Ranking System points are awarded to the candidates based on the profile submitted by them in the Express entry pool. There are four main sections in the CRS:

  • Factors for Human Capital
  • Factors for Spouse or Common-Law Partner
  • Factors for Skill Transferability
  • Additional factors points

All the four sections have diverse credentials that add up resulting in final scores for your Express entry profile.

Factors for Human Capital and Spouse

The first two sections of the Express entry CRS points are closely related. The maximum number of points that can be claimed for both the sections is 500.

You may claim maximum 500 points for Human Capital factors. This is if you are unmarried. It is also so if your spouse is not accompanying you to Canada.

You may claim maximum 460 points for Human capital factors if being accompanied by a partner or the spouse. Maximum 40 points can be claimed for the credentials of your spouse or partner.

Canadian experience, language, education, and age are included in Human capital factors. Skilled workers early in their careers are prioritized for their Express entry profile. Thus points begin to decrease slightly for every passing year after 29 years of age, as quoted by the Canadim.

Factors for Skill Transferability

Maximum 100 points can be obtained in the CRS scores through this section by the candidates for their Canada Express entry profile. They can combine multiple diverse credentials in many ways. The key to understanding this section of the CRS is to divide it into 3 main factors:

  • Educational credentials
  • Credentials for overseas work experience
  • Certificate of Canadian qualification

Each of the above factors can incur up to 50 points when combined either with:

  • High proficiency in language or
  • Work experience in Canada

You can receive only maximum of 100 points in this section even if you are eligible for all its divisions.

Additional factors points

This last section of the CRS points for the Express entry profile can incur maximum of 600 points. English and French are the official languages of Canada. You should provide test results if you are proficient in these languages. It will increase your CRS points. 200 points are awarded for arranged employment and 600 points for nomination from a province.
