Canada's British Columbia province has held another round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada, also commonly referred to as Candian PNP.
On August 10, 2021, British Columbia PNP invited another 51 Canada immigration hopefuls to apply for securing a nomination by British Columbia for Canada PR.
As this was a BC PNP tech draw, candidates eligible for either the categories of Skills Immigration [SI] or Express Entry BC [EEBC] were considered, provided they had a job offer from a BC employer in any of the 29 in-demand tech occupations.
While the SI category is for skilled and semi-skilled workers, the EEBC category – linked with the federal Express Entry system – is for eligible skilled workers to immigrate to BC.
A PNP nomination is worth 600 ranking points for a candidate with their profile in the federal Express Entry system of Canada.
The previous BC PNP draw was held on August 3, 2021.
The previous BC PNP Tech draw, on the other hand, was on July 27, 2021.

What is BC PNP Tech? |
Launched in May 2017, BC PNP Tech offers a prioritized Canada immigration pathway for individuals in 29 tech occupations that intend settling within British Columbia. Earlier known as the BC PNP Tech Pilot, the same has been extended indefinitely and renamed BC PNP Tech. Supporting 6,000+ tech workers to be nominated for Canadian PR so far, BC PNP Tech continues to provide tech employers within British Columbia the ability to recruit – as well as retain – international talent wherever local skilled workers are unavailable. Priority processing for candidates applying through the BC PNP Tech. As per the BC PNP, “Tech applications are prioritized during processing to meet the sector’s fast-paced demands.” |
With the latest BC PNP draw, British Columbia has invited a total of 7,141 in 2021 so far to apply for a BC PNP nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
Canada PR through the PNP route is a 2-step process. After securing a nomination, the next part of the process is that of applying – to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] – for permanent residence in Canada.
