To identify the right visa, you must consider your purpose for traveling or migrating to Australia, your nationality, duration of stay, and your eligibility based on specific visa requirements. Australia offers over 100 visa types for work, tourism, business meetings, study, family reunions, and permanent residency. Identifying the correct visa involves individual circumstances, visa options, and meeting the requirements set by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Step 2: Check if you are eligible for the visa

Each visa has specific eligibility requirements, such as:

Step 3: Use the Visa Finder tool to choose the appropriate visa

Applicants can use the Visa Finder tool on Australia’s Department of Home Affairs website. The Visa Finder application will provide suitable visa options by entering input details, such as purpose, duration of stay, etc. It also helps narrow down visa options based on the applicant’s circumstances.

Step 4: Apply for the Visa

After choosing the appropriate visa, the applicant can apply for it online through the ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website. The applicant must gather all relevant documents based on the specific visa requirements and submit them to the nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate.

Step 5: Pay the visa fee and submit the application

Applicants can pay the visa fee online and undergo biometrics at the Consulate or Embassy. Once the visa application is filed, the processing time may take weeks to months, depending on the type of visa they have applied for and their individual circumstances. Once they receive the visa, they can migrate to Australia.
