How to Immigrate to Canada without a job offer?

In Canadian immigration, most of the programs have no job offer requirements. Around 84% of Express Entry candidates are issued ITAs for Canada PR without a job offer. There are specific programs that do not require a job offer to qualify to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Types of Canada Immigration Programs without Job Offer

Express Entry without a job offer

The Express Entry system is one of the most popular ways to move to Canada without a job offer. Over 100,000 newcomers are welcomed to Canada every year through Express Entry.

 

Express Entry applicants need proper work and educational experience, including language skills. They can enter the Express Entry program through the Federal Skilled Worker program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Each of these programs requires work experience but not a job offer. Applicants who are eligible for any of these can get a score based on the CRS points calculator.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Federal Skilled Worker program is for an individual who wants to apply for Canadian permanent residency based on a variety of factors, which include:

  • Candidate’s age
  • Education Qualification
  • Work Experience
  • Language proficiency in English or French

The Federal Skilled Worker program requires no job offer or Canadian work experience to be eligible.

The Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an Express Entry stream. This stream is for temporary foreign professionals and foreign student graduates who have already acquired work experience in Canada. This program aims to help these applicants to settle in Canada as permanent residents.

 

The Federal Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trade program focuses on skilled tradespeople with at least two years of work experience and proficiency in English and French who qualify for Canada PR.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) without a job offer

Each province has the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that welcomes new immigrants every month. Applicant in the Express Entry system, PNP can add 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

 

Every province has different needs and has more than one program through which some may require a job offer, and some don’t may not. Some PNPs offer to immigrate to Canada without a job offer, such as:

 

BC Skill Immigration International Post Graduates PNP

This stream is eligible for candidates with a graduate degree in science from an eligible British Columbia university who can apply for a Canada Permanent residency without a job offer. To meet the eligibility criteria for this stream, the applicant needs to submit their application to the BC PNP within three years of the date shown on the official date.

Alberta PNP

Alberta Express Entry applicants don’t require a job offer to apply. Alberta will issue a notification of interest under this stream only, for which the candidate has to create an Express Entry profile and indicate their interest in settling in Alberta.

Ontario PNP

Candidates who wish to settle in Ontario can apply under the Ontario Express Entry, as it does not need a job offer. This stream allows the province to nominate eligible Express Entry candidates who meet the language, work experience, and other requirements.

Saskatchewan PNP

Saskatchewan PNP is similar to Express Entry which will also evaluate points through Expression of Interest (EOI). Saskatchewan has two provincial nomination streams: the Saskatchewan Express Entry-linked stream and the Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand stream that doesn’t require a job offer.

Nova Scotia PNP

Nova Scotia invites candidates directly from the Express Entry pool to fill specific demographic or labor market gaps.

 

Applicants with an Express Entry profile in the pool of candidates can be invited to settle permanently in a Canadian province. The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream is an option for those who want to move to the province but do not yet have a job offer.
