Type of the visas for which you need to apply for skills assessment

The following are the visas for which you need to apply for skill assessment:
 

• General Skilled Migration (GSM) visas

Candidates who are willing to apply for Skilled Migration visas must have suitable skills assessment for their occupation. To receive an invitation to apply for the points-tested visa, applicants must have a nominated occupation listed under the skilled occupation list. The following are the visas for which you need skill assessment:
 

• Skilled Independent visa
• Skilled Nominated visa
• Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa
• Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa
• Employer-Sponsored visas
   

Candidates who are willing to apply under the Direct Entry stream, a skill assessment is required. However, if you apply under the Temporary Residence Transition Stream or under the Labour Agreement stream, skill assessment is not necessary.
 

• Skill in Demand (SID) visa

Applicants who are willing to apply for this visa must take the skill assessment as part of their visa application.
 

• Temporary graduate visa

Applicants who want to be eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa should have a nominated occupation that is listed under the Medium to Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
