The top 10 Jobs for Australia PR Immigrants have been revealed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics topped by the Health Professionals. This is for the period 2000 to 2016. Increased numbers of these were from India and most of them own a home or are buying one.
The second most common job for these Australia PR Immigrants was that of Marketing, Human Resource, or Business Professional. Between 2000 and 2016, around 292, 000 India-born people arrived in Australia. Out of these, 234,000 were on an Australia Skilled Immigration Visa, as quoted by the SMH.
The ABS report reveals that the most common income for this cohort of PR immigrants was 650$ - 999$ per week. On the other hand, more than 1/4th of the humanitarian immigrants had an income per week at 300$ - 649$. 35% of the working skilled immigrants earned 1,500 $ plus weekly while this was 7.3% for the Humanitarian Visa workers.
Skilled immigrants possessed the highest levels of proficiency in the English language at 92%. The workers on Humanitarian Visas had lower levels of English proficiency at 66%. Those on the Family Visas had English language proficiency at 73%.
A transition has also been observed in immigration from European nations to nations in Asia that have English as the second language.
