Saskatchewan PNP invites 279 in first SINP draw of April 2021 The Canadian province of Saskatchewan has held its latest round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].
On April 8, 2021, Saskatchewan invited a total of 279 Canada immigration hopefuls through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program [SINP].
Those invited can now proceed to applying to Saskatchewan PNP for a provincial nomination under the SINP for their Canadian permanent residence. This is the first provincial draw to be held this month by Saskatchewan. Typically, SINP draws are held on a bi-monthly basis. Unlike the Prince Edward Island PNP draw schedule for 2021, the dates of the draws are not posted in advance by Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan PNP limits the selection of Expression of Interest [EOI] profiles occupation-wise. This is done so that nominees with “positive employment prospects in Saskatchewan” get selected, at the same time not exceeding employment demand in the province. The frequency of draws and the total number of invitations issued in any SINP draw will be determined by the requirements of the SINP application inventory. In the latest MPNP draw held on April 8, of the total 279 invitations issued, 146 went to candidates eligible for the SINP’s International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry pathway. Another 133 SINP invitations were for International Skilled Worker: Occupations In-Demand candidates. While both the pathways are for skilled foreign workers, while the SINP’s Express Entry is linked to and runs in alignment with the federal Express Entry system, the Occupations In-Demand category exists independently. Express Entry candidates that are nominated by any of the provinces or territories – through one of the PNP-linked Express Entry ‘streams’ or immigration pathways – are automatically given 600 CRS points. By ‘CRS’ here is implied the ranking points, out of a total of 1,200, that are allotted to an Express Entry profile based on the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS]. Their profile is thus boosted in the Express Entry pool of candidates of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC]. A PNP nomination is thereby a guarantee of an Express Entry candidate being invited by IRCC to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
