PEI PNP invites 195 in the latest provincial draw

The latest provincial draw by Canada’s Prince Edward Island was held on December 17, 2020. A total of 195 candidates were invited in the latest PEI Provincial Nominee Program [PEI PNP] round of invitations.

The previous PEI PNP draw was held on November 19, 2020.

Those invited can now proceed to applying for their provincial nomination through the PEI PNP.

PEI is one of the Canadian provinces that are a part of the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP]. With almost 80 immigration pathways available, PNP remains a much sought-after route to Canada immigration.

Many of the PNP ‘streams’ or immigration pathways are linked with the federal Express Entry System of Canada. A PNP nomination fetches an Express Entry candidate 600 CRS points. These are additional points that can be secured apart from the human capital factors.

By CRS is implied the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] used for ranking Express Entry profiles against one another. The highest-ranked Express Entry profiles are invited by Canada to apply for permanent residence. No direct applications can be submitted for Express Entry.

Prince Edward Island is also one of the 4 provinces in Canada – Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia – that are a part of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot [AIP].

According to the PEI PNP, individuals selected in the PEI PNP draws for a nomination for Canada PR, are in keeping with their “intention to live and work in PEI and their economic ability to establish here.”

Currently, the PEI prioritizes immigration hopefuls that can assist in addressing the identified skills shortages in the local labour market.

In 2020, PEI PNP has issued a total of 1,955 invitations in the 18 draws that have been held.
