Ontario invites 772 in latest OINP Tech Draw

In the latest Tech Draw held on October 15, 2020, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] has issued “targeted notifications of interest to candidates who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream”.

The previous HCP stream draw by the OINP was held on August 28, 2020. The July 29 OINP Tech Draw was the biggest Tech Draw by Ontario in 2020 so far, inviting 1,288.

An OINP immigration stream, Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream gives foreign workers – that have the required skilled work experience, education as well as language ability – the opportunity to apply for living and working in Ontario permanently.

A Canadian immigration hopeful cannot apply directly to the HCP stream of the OINP.

A valid profile in the federal Express Entry System as well as an invitation from the OINP will be required before they can apply online for being nominated by Ontario for Canada permanent residence.

Those successful in securing a provincial nomination through the BC PNP can then proceed to applying to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] for Canadian PR. A provincial nomination gets an Express Entry profile 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] points.

Total 772 Express Entry candidates – with a CRS score between 462 and 470 – received Notifications of Interest [NOIs] in the latest OINP Tech Draw.

Those invited were also required to have work experience in any of the 6 occupations as per the National Occupational Classification [NOC] matrix.

The 6 NOC codes targeted in the October 15 OINP draw –

Applicants receiving an NOI by the OINP on October 15, 2020, can apply to Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream. The applicant will be required to be able to demonstrate their work experience in any of the 6 targeted occupations.

Those receiving an NOI from Ontario have 45 calendar days for submitting their application for provincial nomination through the OINP.
